With Funding from USAID – Shejah Salam, through DT Global, CARDO have officially Launched Radio Distribution in Western Bahr el Ghazal State on Wednesday 17.8.2022. The distribution of 380 Radios will cover both Jur River and Wau Counties in WBeG.
The project entitled “Radio Distribution in Wau and Jur River County” aims to increase the availability of radio listening groups, increased community access to information, and to increased community debates and interaction through media as well as managing relationships with the authorities. The event was witnessed and graced by Hon. Minister of Information and Communication in Western Bahr el Ghazal State Hon. Samuel Nicola Kornelio and other line Ministries.
The event was equally attended by various Peace Building Organizations operating in the state.
Presiding over the event, Hon. Minister Samuel Nicola has indeed appreciated the work that NGOs are doing in the state and helping the government in implementing some of the government responsibilities. Radios are very key instruments in the delivery of effective and accurate information, the groups that have received these Radios today must take good care of them and benefit from pre-loaded programs in the Radios, he concluded.
