As part of strengthening community local ownership of the project at Women Girls Safe Space (WGSS) of Alelthony in Jur River County “Community Town Hall Meetings are the most Appropriate Tool”
On Friday 27 May 2022, CARDO along side with key line Ministries, County authorities and key Partners organized “Community Town Hall Meeting” event in Alel-thony which aim to enlighten communities (right holders), stakeholders (duty bearers) and partners as part of sensitisation on the project objectives and activities, the expected outcomes of the project and the role of diverse stakeholders.
The event was grace by Hon. Joseph Manok, Acting Commissioner for Jur River county and Director Generals for both Ministries of Gender, Child and Social Welfare and that of Land Housing and Public Utilities Directoriat of Public Utilities Unit
During the most ever colorful event, the Community members and the key Stakeholders have expressed their support to the project activities and sustainability aspect.
The project entitled “Strengthening Integrated WASH and GBV Services (SIWGS) in Jur River and Tonj South Counties” is to enhance SGBV programs in addressing harmful social norms and systematic gender inequality and inform the community about the available protection services at the Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) and beyond. The project also seeks to help communities affected by crisis to gain access to improved hygiene practices and services appropriate to their immediate needs.
